Don't TRUST Sony and I am going to tell you why.

Online since August 20, 2007 because Sony REFUSES to give support that was PAID for and NOBODY at Sony is smart enough to fix it. So Sony, you brought this on yourself.
And don't even think of thtreatening me. The TRUTH is an absolute defense. FIX MY PROBLEM SONY!! There must be ONE person at Sony that has some BRAINS. I haven't seen any indication. But I am an optimist.

SONY TECH SUPPORT SUCKS and THEY sell you in home service that they have NO intention of providing.

BAIT and SWITCH AFTER you pay!??


I make my living online. Had I known that Sony's "In home service" was basically a FAKE, I would NEVER have bought their machine.
I can't afford to be without my main computer for 7-10 DAYS at a time. I would have NEVER bought Sony had I known.

This is my THIRD Sony computer. The other 2 are travel laptops. But this was the first time I used Sony as my MAIN computer and my first "Experience" with their tech support. I had to explain the SAME thing to 14 different people. 14!!!! Talk about frustrating. They had terrible and non existent follow up. Each time I called it was like it was my first call. Dealing with folks that could CARE LESS about solving your problem. The one guy they did send to the house, slapped in the harddrive and then handed ME the disks to install cuz he was "Too busy." Of course it did not go smooth. It failed. I was without a working Sony computer from July 2 til July 25th. You call THAT support?

In my experience, Sony as the WORST tech support of any company I have ever used. They FOOL people as well. I paid extra for in home service that they provide on VERY LIMITED basis. Why sell in home service if you don't intend to give that service??

Sony takes your money and hoodwinks people. Sony can fix this right now but they are incompetent and RUDE!

I have a BROKEN $5700 Sony Laptop VGN-AR370 to this very minute. TOP of the line and loaded.

In 8 WEEKS the hard drive crashes. The in home repair was a JOKE so I was forced to send it to San Diego for over 1 week.
When I got it back the Hard drive was fixed. But the monitor came back broken and has giant while lines all the way across the screen.
I emailed 5 minutes after I get it back and they want me to start all over contacting their CRAPPY tech support department.
I have already talked to a total of 14 KNOW NOTHINGS that refuse to do anything but switch me to whoever and can't make a call back and can't do anything. The ONLY thing they care about is passing the call to someone else and explain it all over again.

They want me to send back the computer AGAIN instead of providing the onsite service I PAID FOR. The onsite service they SELL for EXTRA cost. The service they FAILED to provide. Maybe they should have a CLEAR disclaimer that if you need your computer on a daily basis, SONY is not the company to buy from because they can not offer the support needed.

So I am going to take this $5700 SONY machine and I am going to take a sledge hammer and destroy this sub standard SONY machine and then I am going to film it and put it on YouTube so the world can see.

If you have had a bad experience with Sony tech support, please email me. I want to compile all this and then we will see what Sony says to dozens, hundreds, or thousands of people like me that have been FOOLED and CHEATED by Sony.

The store folks are great. They tell me how great the support is. They TRULY don't know that it is so bad. It is the WORST! So Sony employees should no longer LIE to their customers. Now you know. Sony tech support SUCKS!

I am now composing the notes and the 14 KNOW NOTHINGS at Sony I have talked to and should have that info compiled soon. I have names, dates, times and ATTITUDES.

One employee was so indifferent to my situation that I told him he should treat me like I worked for Sony and this was his evaluation.

In the meantime many people will see this page as I begin diverting traffic from my websites to THIS page. I want EVERYONE to know that Sony LIES about the service contract that they sell you for EXTRA COST.
I want everyone to know how CRAPPY their support is. They don't even have an answer when you ask why I paid EXTRA for ONSITE service.

Marlin, Employee # CC24 (but refused to give me his email address) is supposed to be pretty high up the chain but he too is CLUELESS how bad their sysytem is and really could care less. I told him exactly what I am going to do and HERE IT IS MARLIN! When I told him Sony LIED he took it as a personal insult and refused to talk to me further. Well, SONY DOES LIE! Sony takes the $$$ and does not give you the support they promise and PAID FOR! So wake up Marlin!! Wake up SONY!!

I will expand this site as needed. I will put up a forum so we can share war stories. I want Sony to HEAR and SEE what is going on. SONY TECH SUPPORT SUCKS! They really have NO tech support. They FOOL people and by the time you find out....it's too late..

Email us here and we will send you an offiicial form to fill out and together we will get Sony to do what we PAID them for and in the meantime SONY can deal with the fallout from this site until I get the service I PAID FOR!!!!!

As you see this issue has been going on for years and Sony does not give a RATS ASS about support and doing things right. THIS is business as usual for Sony.

Sony Fooled me too!!

Hi, I hate Sony with a passion too. The only experience I had with tech
support is sending an email and getting nothing in return. But I was fooled
by their cameras, their entertainment systems, their stereos and their badly
designed and overpriced laptops.

Long story short, I compared this pile of crap, PCG 8G1L, to a Toshiba
Satellite pro 4600, which is 7 years older and Sony loses in every aspect.
It LOST to a laptop that is 7 years older despite having all the technical
advantages.

I encourage you highly on your mission to attack Sony and I would love to
help you in any way I can.

Hi,

I've "Configure to Order" the VPCEB390X from Sony Style Store December 12th, 2010.  I also made the CTO order w/ the purchase of Netgear Push2Tv adapter that will work w/ the Intel Wireless Display.  I've just got the laptop shipped to me today, and found that it's missing Intel Wireless Display. 

After few calls to Customer/Tech supports, finally they found out why the Wireless Display feature got missing.  There are few upgrades I made including the ATI graphic card with 1GB of VRAM for $100.  This upgrade replaces the standard graphic card that actually needed for the Display feature.  I went into the loop after that making more calls to resolve the issue.  They basically refused repair and only option is to return it.  Here is the protocol of their supports.

1)  Customer support - return only else call Technical support and see
2)  Technical support (sounds like in India) - call Customer support or Customer support
3)  Customer relation - call Customer support

I tried to bring out the option for a referral to their Backstage.  There are two near by locations.  However, they are pretty junior technician and thus the support didn't want to refer me there for repair.  They cannot down grade the ATI card back to the standard one carries the Display feature.

I remember one technical support personnel told me that when I do upgrade, I should get minus.  This really thrown me off.

Also, they said warranty cannot cover this repair since it's built correctly according to the customize specification.  I told them the problem is the broken specification.  They cannot simply take away the Display feature with warning/notes/etc in the Store.  They said there is nothing they can do except me returning it.

Anyway, my conclusion is that Sony had outsourced to different places (tech support in India, manufacture in China, and Customer support in US), that their so called "Configure to Order" is not reliable.  And the company is not willing to fix mistakes they make.  I don't know how anyone can stand to this quality of services especially through shipping.  What if the second shipment had a different issue.

I bought a walkman mp3 player that wouldn't charge, so I called sony and they told me to mail it to Laredo exchange center, 10227 crossroads loop suite C, Laredo, Texas 78045. So I sent it in and they said it would be exchanged for another and returned to me in 2-4 week. I sent it Jan10th, they received it Jan.14th, and now it's March! I have called over and over again, and I just keep getting  the same excuses and transfered from the exchange center to customer service and back. Every time that I ask to speak with a supervisor, they say that they are in a meeting, that they will have them call back within 24 hrs. Well no phone calls either. I'm really tired of the customer service bullshit!! Or as they sometimes call it customer relations Well I don't ever want relations like that, I'd shoot them or something. The player only cost me $80.12 and they are losing so many customers over little shit like this. I will NEVER buy another sony product as long as I live, and I'm telling everyone that I know, and ones I don't, about this experiance. They are the worst company I have ever seen!!!!!!

Sony sucks!
For sure, the only reason why I bought my SONY VAIO laptop was because I thought that being overpriced and all I’d be treated like a king if something were to happen but I WAS WRONG !!
First of laptop worked fine for a few months then it started to get really hot after a mere 20 minutes of simple work, not even doing any I/O, so I thought it was all good until a year later the HD died on me, basically I left it on sleep mode for around 5 hours and then no HD, so great I thought at least this is SONY and I should be covered but again I WAS WRONG,
When I called the support POS people could no anything without a proof of purchase to which I said well I purchased directly from your online store so you should have some record of it, but they refused, I had a item packing list, a website print out, the original box the serial number, etc, NOTHING, they wanted some crazy purchase order they send when you purchase their crap.
So after 3 calls and asking for “managers” which are none that can do more than read from a script I got no-where.
I’ve worked over 10 years in the tech industry so I KNOW for sure customer support and what companies have it good and which not and I can tell you SONY DOES NOT I will never buy any sony product EVER and wont recommend it at all, they can disappear as far as I’m concerned.
Thank you for having a website to help other consumers into buying bad products from a BAD company.
